Panda a/k/a "Panda-Bear"

Janet Woods and Panda of Paris Tennessee

If anyone is silly enough to ask me about Panda, they better have plenty of time! The first time I met Panda, she raced into the room and threw herself into my lap. At that time, I had no idea that in just a few short months she would join our family.

Panda takes on whatever the task at hand is with boundless energy and delight. Whether it is meeting a group of preschoolers or participating in a parade with a crowd of 200,000, she gives it her all. Yet she is quite content to play couch potato on a rainy day.

One of Panda's favorite people is our 3 year old granddaughter, Tabitha. It was Tabitha who christened her "Panda-Bear". Panda's favorite trick is to steal Tabitha's toys and hide them under the couch cushions, of course, she makes sure that Tabby sees her do it!

In the past year alone Panda has visited a preschool , spent an entire morning at a local grade school where she delighted over 60 youngsters, gone to girl scout camp, earned her CGC, walked in a parade to promote local police dogs and more!

Panda's natural love of people comes in handy when we do school visits. Without any coaching from me she makes sure to visit with each child, even those who are somewhat fearful, have been charmed by her gentle demeanor. On the day of the parade, Panda donned her costume made vest and, along with her half sister Tasha, showed the crown what a well mannered GSD was all about. As we started on the two mile walk a child in the crowd yelled out "There's Panda - she came to our school". We could not move until Panda had given her new friend a few kisses!

Not since my Sheba has a dog so taken my heart. Panda is gentle but let a threat present itself and she is fierce and tough. Sometimes a clown and sometimes a lady, Panda adjusts her mood to the occasion. We are lucky that Miss Panda choose us to be her family and we look forward to many, many years of fun and adventure with our "Panda-Bear".
